HetaHospital Ch1 by Atomic-Crayon HetaHospital Ch1 by Atomic-Crayon
Amnesia is always a serious problem, and for Gilbert, it's his main issue. Not knowing who is friend or foe, it's a race to see what happens first- Will he fall into Hysteria, or will he regain his memory and escape the labyrinth?

Unlike HetaFear, I'm not including the RTP data in this file, so it'll be a much smaller file size and quicker download.
You can find the RTP here:…
Download Game Data

Also, unlike HetaFear, it's not Horror-Comedy. It doesn't even really start out very light at all.
This game does contain some disturbing sound effects, so if you dislike those I don't recommend playing it
Also, there is jump-scares and flashing lights at points. There is mild Gore as well.

Thank you all for the support! ^^

Because I've been asked this many times, you may create LP's of this and any other games I have or may create in the future. However, I would prefer if you linked me to said LP, either through a note or a comment. Thanks! Same for Fanart- I love to see it!

I wanted to release before I go a convention this weekend. I may or may not take things down to edit them in the first week after this.
I'm sorry for being maze-loving trash one day maybe I won't put a maze in a game but today is not that day.
Don't use the save file from the demo. There was a minor dialogue change and now you get a diary to check memory. The dialogue change was minor, but it has a pretty significant implication.
There may or may not be a few bugs during the first few days... I'll try and catch them and reupload. I tried to get all of them, but I may have missed some.
The puzzle is simpler than it looks. Don't over think things.

I adore this game and its concept. The various stages of fear add to it very well, and while the puzzle is challenging, I quite like it. However, it is, as I said, challenging (perhaps because I'm overthinking?). I went to see LPs for some aid, and I noticed that they have functions that I do not. In the rooms where Gilbert meets Francis and Antonio, there are objects that others can find words on, but no matter how many times I interact with said items, I do not receive any words. Some examples include the shattered wine bottle, the bars of silver/gold, and the book in Antonio's room.

In addition, the bags in Antonio's room (upper right) ask if I want to search the bag, but the usual choices that should appear (yes/no) do not appear, and when it asks me if I would like to search again, I am not given the option to do so. Pressing enter acts as if I had selected no. In the LPs I've seen, the bag has a word inside.

I'm not sure if I missed something, or if I am mistaken, but if you could explain these things, then I would be most grateful.

Fun to play and wonderful story line, good artwork.

It's just... that damn puzzle. You know the one. I'm sorry but I have absolutely no idea where you were going with that one. I had to get the answer from another video and I still have no idea WHY that was the answer.

Either you need to seriously rethink the average IQ of your players or I am seriously stupid. If you could explain how that puzzle works, that would be great. I don't feel right just knowing the answer and not knowing why it's right.

Puzzles are fun, but not when you have to give up on them and get the answer from someone else just to continue on with the story.

Other than that, it was a good game and I look forward to seeing more from you.

I don't know if someone's asked this or if I just missed it, but is the chase theme also from the sound effects website? Because it's really cool and I'd love to just sit and listen to it. .u.

There is a room with Russia in it and the room after it, the eye-thing was in it. Is there a way to continue after being chased by the eye? My friend says the room had the lantern in it.

Hello. I was wondering if you had a good site I could use to open the .RAR file. All I can find costs money I don't have x.x
TULAngel Featured By Owner Sep 5, 2014  Hobbyist
WinRAR is probably your best bet. It has a 30 day "trial" but after the trial it just nags you occasionally to get the full version. You can still use it indefinitely. I've been using it for probably over six years over a couple different computers and it works just fine. Here's the link:

I finally got around to playing the game this afternoon, and wow, was I blown away! ^u^

Okay, so just to start, the idea for this game is just lovely. It's different, it puts a spot light on some other characters more, and it sort of draws you in.  You really did an interesting puzzle idea too, and I was confused for probably a good 15-20 minutes XD But it really wasn't that hard!
Now the strange creature you've got in there, the first time that popped up I just wow.  I didn't expect it, the sprite was creepy, and disturbing, and it really did make you want to get away from that thing.  The use of the sound effects really helped develop that fear that the character was feeling, and made the player feel it too. It's been a while since I've played a good horror based game in general, I really got sucked into the world that was being created there! c: All through out I had a creepy vibe and was always feeling a little nervous with every step I took in the game, and thats something that made it so great =u=

I also really like the "scared" mechanic you have going on there. It actually made for something pretty interesting during game play.   I also liked the use of the "candle" in the maze place =u= Made it much more eerie. May I ask how you created the candle thing etc? I have trouble finding a good way to do that in my own game. ^^;

So far, the whole game, phenomenal, and I cannot wait to see more! Please keep working on this, you've done an amazing job so far!!! ^w^

It's a great game so far, however I got stuck on the code to the cupboard. I'd been stuck on it for a while and decided to watch a walkthrough where I noticed I was missing some things, such as dialogue after Prussia picked up the letters with the 6's all over them and the paper in France's room was already torn off when I went in there. But I'm redownloading it now to make sure it wasn't something that happened because I downloaded the game a couple months ago or not

This is a really great game. This is certainly an upgrade, yet slightly downgrade from Hetafear. I will be doing some comparison when critiquing this, so prepare yourself.

I'll start with the storyline. This is where I will say that it's a HUGE upgrade from Hetafear, where the storyline was almost nonexistant and made no sense, and the characters were OOC. There is a straight forward story that's filled with mystery and relies on horror (which does a great job in scaring the living daylights out of anyone who plays it). This goes deep into paranoia and amnesia. We don't know how Prussia got himself into the situation he is in, but it does give us a chance to see him gaining memory back and fight against his own paranoia. Being that Prussia has amnesia, it makes sense why he's OOC. This is the kind of storyline and theme that should have been in Hetafear when diving into fear. Great job.

The game play is both an upgrade and slightly downgrade. It seems like you're trying to make this game slightly more difficult than Hetafear. While this can be a good thing, it can also be bad too. Hetafear had challenges, but it was straightforward in its puzzles and mazes, not too easy, but not too difficult for the players. The maze was fine and I loved that it slowly became more challenging as the player goes forward, though the puzzle with France and Spain, trying to decode the closet was WAY TOO DAMN DIFFICULT. Seriously, don't try to make your puzzles so difficult that it takes days for your players to figure it out. It would have been one thing if you waited for that puzzle until later on in the game, but it's like you go from easy to freakin' hard to slowly making it challenging again. Don't make your puzzles too difficult for the players. If you're not sure, try having one of your friends or family members play it before releasing it. It would've been easier if instead of having a bunch of words everywhere in the two rooms, you just have one word and the players have to cross out that particular word out of the jumbled up words shown on the stones. This way, the puzzle will still be challenging, but not too difficult for the players. Don't frustrate and confuse your players by placing one difficult challenge that days them days to figure it out. (and most of the players, I've heard, had to get help from the few that have solved it. No offense, but that's ridiculous)

The rest is a blast. The only problem I had was the puzzle. It was way too hard, especially when the rest was a breeze. The maze was a walk in the park compared to the puzzle. I understand it was your intention to make the puzzle hard, but there's being challenging and there's being ridiculously hard. Take your challenges one step at a time. Don't blot one EXTREMELY difficult puzzle dap in the middle and have the rest be a breeze. Start it being easy, then slowly make it slightly more difficult as the player progresses. It makes it fun and enjoyable. If you place one difficult challenge or puzzle your audience cannot solve, then you're going to lose your audience faster than road runner from Loony Tunes. On top of that, it's poor game play. With Hetafear, it challenged the players by starting from easy, then slowly became more difficult as the player progressed and got deeper into the game. That's what I want to see in this game. I want to see it slowly becoming challenging as we dive deeper into the game.

Keep up the good work!

I'd debated on changing the puzzle- I'm liking your suggestion, I'm fixing that. Now there's only the key words, and I've added in another memory added dialogue.

Yeah, I have some definite plans for the storyline- A lot of Prussia's character is who he is- he has so many years of history behind him, to have it suddenly all washed away would leave him, well, a blank slate.

The more he learns, the more he'll act like himself.

And yeah, of the person I sent it to- She said one of the first things she tried was removing the letters.
The other people were my friends who I would just let borrow my laptop, which would allow me to mention- There's only one word with six letters- when it's all spelled out, it clicks- and that's probably why I didn't recognize how hard it would be. Anyway, it's changed/changing now, depending on when you read this.
ufd Featured By Owner Jun 7, 2014
Yeah, that pretty much was the only problem I had with it. Having a letter with 6 all over it didn't really tell me anything. I thought 6 was part of the code or was a foreshadowing of the devil or something (like 666).

Which is why I love it so much. Even though Prussia is OOC, there is a reasonable explaination for it and, as the story continues and he regains more of his memory, Prussia begins acting more like himself. I tell ya, the game does a REALLY great job with the horror theme.
